2001 年 《敏捷宣言》签署，签署人当中 ward cunningham 曾经是 thoughtworker ， martin fowler 和 jim highsmith 现在是 thoughtworker 。
2002 年， thoughtworks 是最早在大型项目中应用 microsoft .net 技术的企业之一。基于我们的实践经验， thoughtworks 与微软共同总结了在企业应用中使用 .net 的设计最佳实践，并于 2003 年出版了《使用 microsoft.net 的企业解决方案模式》一书， thoughtworks 中国公司总经理郭晓是这本书的作者之一。
2003 年， *轻量级 j2ee- 开始逐渐取代 ejb 成为 java 企业技术的主流，很多 thoughtworker 在这场潮流中扮演领军人物。例如 jon tirsen 和 paul hammant ，都是当时轻量级 j2ee 架构的领导者。
2006 年 ，作为最早 在企业应用中使用 ruby on rails 的公司，我们已经开始用 ruby on rails 交付了一系列的项目。 oracle mix 是全球第一个基于 jruby 的大型企业应用。 jruby 的主要贡献者 ola bini 是 thoughtworker 。
2010 年， devops 和持续交付刚开始引起注意， thoughtworks 已经在大量项目中进行了实践。持续交付的领导者 jez humble 是 thoughtworker 。
