ROLE DEｓｃｒｉｐｔION
The Infrastructure Enterprise Services job is responsible for building and running enterprise services that enable the functioning of Technology teams, Products and Services across the bank.
This role will carry out some or all of the following activities
? Provide Enterprise Services, including platform services (mainframes, UNIX and Linux servers, iSeries (ｍｉｄ-range), Windows and storage) for securely storing/analysing data as well as Developer Services which enable faster ｄｅｌivery of highly standardised platform services, for example, Virtualisation, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Dev Engineering, Group System Development Environment (GSDE), and Cloud.
? Setup automation Team(s) to increase efficiency and reduce time spent undertaking tasks
? Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity
? Develop Cloud based infrastructure platforms and ｄｅｌiver infrastructure, platform etc. “as a Service” by working with Business & other DevOps teams
? Determine the strategic direction and ｅｘｅｃute in each of the Technology areas under Enterprise Services responsibility
? Risk and Cost Management
? Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform services
? Business stakeholder management to define product roadmaps and keep other areas of HSBC informed about the Technological infrastructure capabilities available
? Write development code, understand a DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous ｄｅｌivery pipeline, and build automated test ｓｃｒｉｐｔs (for infrastructure products and upgrades), and build automation interfaces between systems
CAPABILITY DEｓｃｒｉｐｔION
The operation and control of the IT infrastructure (typically hardware, software, data stored on various media, and all equipment within wide and local area ｎｅｔworks) required to ｄｅｌiver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business. Includes preparation for new or changed services, operation of the change process, the maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards, the building and management of systems and components in virtualised computing environments and the monitoring of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, their security and their sustainability.
LEVEL DEｓｃｒｉｐｔION
Carries out agreed operational procedures, including ｎｅｔwork configuration, installation and maintenance. Uses ｎｅｔwork management tools to collect and report on ｎｅｔwork load and performance statistics. Contributes to the implementation of maintenance and installation work. Uses standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system backups, restoring data where necessary. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution
