Job Purpose

This role is for a Junior Costume Designer within the design department, being responsible for all areas of design from concept to production including mood boards & sketches, CAD work, design packs & general design administration. Must be competent in Adobe illustrator & Photoshop.

Key Responsibilities

o   Assist the senior designers in all aspects of design & development.

o   ｃｒｅａｔｅ & work independently & within the team on mood boards & initial ideas

o   Assist & work on CAD drawings for both generic & licensed costumes

o   Help designers ａｄｄ design packs & images on the PLM system.

o   With the help of the senior designers, compile detailed design packs & work on drawings to be sent to the sample room in China

o   Work with the technical team on pattern design and garment construction. Also learning about new testing & safety requirements

o   Ensuring samples are to the highest standard whilst making sure they are of a commercial nature

o   Help with presentations both to the Rubies UK team & customers

o   Learn re fabrics & printing techniques
