Role Purpose:
Responsibility for optimising sales income from assigned portfolios, an RS Key Account Manager strives to become the first point of contact for a customer to address all their purchasing and service requirements. Primary focus is on building effective relationships within a specified group of key accounts to gain a clear understanding of current and future needs and drive significant incremental sales.
Key Accountabilities:
· Use financial and customer data to analyse and penetrate all key accounts.
· Achieve sales targets, margin targets and other specified metrics.
· Plan effective contact coverage to exceed sales/growth targets.
· Develop an in depth understanding of the customer, their markets and competitors.
· To effectively use the RS value proposition to differentiate RS from our competitors in the minds of their contacts.
· Provide solutions to meet customer needs by the implementation of relevant and cost-effective value added services.
· Build and use internal and external networks to ensure customer satisfaction and drive activity at site level.
· Identify new contacts and expand the range of products purchased using the Value Proposition to position RS as their supplier of choice.
· Maintain accurate customer records, CRM data and sales reporting data to maximize potential from all key customers.
· To continually expand relevant technical knowledge and to develop an understanding of the RS product and service portfolio, their application in key areas and the benefits they provide to customers.
· Build, maintain and enhance relationships with all key influencers and decision makers within all key customers to consistently strive to develop new business opportunities and achieve revenue targets.
· Share best practice across the business in order to support the activities of the team whilst achieving individual goals and targets.
· Promote and maximize potential from routine and targeted marketing campaigns.
· Meet specified sales standards.
· Provide monthly reports to include data on performance against sales targets and key metrics.
· Issue, follow up and convert profitable quotations.
· Support Marketing campaigns to drive activity and sales.
· Organize customer onsite Roadshow and/or In-House Seminar for contacts expansion and cross-selling, especially for RS Pro brand and/or Anchor Supplier Brands.
Person Specification:
· 3years above account management experience.
· Results driven and self-motivated with an ability to work independently in a remote area
· Commercial awareness, particularly around cost of acquisition/profitability.
· Sales and negotiation skills.
· Goal and results oriented.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills
· IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Customer focused attitude (internal and/or external).
· Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships at all levels.
· BS degree of EE/ME/automation control or similar.
· Technical background is preferred, or equivalent approved experience working with customer technical peer.
