Responsibilities:
Leader for one or more key operating success programs within the Lab Operating Success organization, with either Regional or Global responsibility. Assists Lab Operating Success leadership in implementing and managing the vision, strategy, and effective execution for their areas of expertise. Responsible to provide direction to Regional or Global laboratory operations and to manage any policies or procedures that are necessary for compliance. Obtains feedback and input from various parts of the organization to establish best practices and a sustainable approach to enable compliance with requirements and successful execution of strategy.
* Leads design, development and execution of strategic programs in support of Lab & Ops strategy and business objectives. Supports optimization and standardization of best-in-class processes, tools, systems, documentation and governance for key areas of focus.
* Always keeps safety at the forefront of all work activities.
Quality
* Supports the refinement of the Quality Management System. Participates in development of clear policy and process documentation, supporting global process standardization, efficiency and minimized compliance risk.
* Helps streamline the Management Review process, increasing efficiency and making it an effective tool for strategic operational planning.
* Supports clear communication of quality related topics, getting critical information to the right people. Utilizes knowledge of Accreditations, Schemes, Programs and UL Solutions policies to help reduce risk of noncompliance.
* Helps reduce defects, rework and nonconformities. Evaluates repeat nonconformities and collaborates with Lab and other teams to create effective resolution and process improvement. Engages with site Quality to assist with audits and to support nonconformance resolution as needed.
* Participates in regular business reviews with Regional Lab & Ops leaders. Stays informed of relevant requirements changes and works with Operations to ensure awareness and ongoing compliance.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
* Generally 8 Years or more of related experience or demonstrated competency
Has solid knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and are familiar with ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO 9001
* Yellow or Green Belt training preferred
* Leverages and embraces the diverse knowledge and expertise of the team to solve problems
* Builds networks across UL to enable and promote operational success
* Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do job at a high level of achievement
* Has understanding of tools and systems in use by Lab & Ops and other business and functional teams
* Able to provide clear, impactful, actionable communications to stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
* Proven ability to work with diverse, global teams
* Has experience leading change initiatives
