JOB SUMMARY
Manage the Workcell Engineering teams (Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Industrial Engineering, FA/NPI or Prototyping) to meet and exceed customer’s goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Workcell Engineering teams with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm in striving for excellence (and avoid mediocrity) in all endeavors.
- Be a creative and proactive contributor to the Management team, focusing on continuous improvement and seamless engineering ｅｘｅｃutions.
- Make continuous improvements in customer’s Quarterly Business Review scores.
- Assist the Workcell Manager/Business Unit Manager in accordance to directions given and act on his/her behalf in Operations during his/her absence.
- Recruit and maintain a high-caliber Workcell Engineering staff appropriate to business circumstances.
- Develop, motivate and challenge all team members to perform to their fullest potential, providing direct and timely feedback in either a formal and informal media.
- Prepare periodic performance reviews of all direct reports. Recommend salary increases and changes in job status as appropriate.
- ｃｒｅａｔｅ a decentralized operation that is organized along project lines and empowers the individual to make a difference.
- Encourage employees to maintain an in-depth field of experience and knowledge regarding emerging electronic, manufacturing and materials management technologies. Ensure that Jabil is an industry leader in developing/adapting effective advanced systems and methods.

- Work with all levels of the organization to improve quality levels (goal: Zero Defect product). Drive to conclusion all action items escalated to the Workcell Manager’s or Business Unit Manager’s level.
- Ensure that all levels of the Workcell Engineering teams are focused on providing the customer with the highest level of engineering service and support during the FA/NPI or Prototyping as well as during mass production stages.
- Ensure a cost-effective operations by monitoring, enhancing and improving the manufacturing efficiencies, scrap rates, engineering processes, overheads and utilization of workcell gears and resources.
- Strive to provide the customer with 100% on-time ｄｅｌivery and highest possible customer satisfactions.
- Ensure effective management and control of all workcell materials and property.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the Workcell Engineering teams.
- ｃｒｅａｔｅ a sense of pride and ownership that strive to be the “best in class” in workcell ｅｘｅｃution and performance.
- Ensure that the Workcell Engineering members administer all policies fairly and consistently, while remaining flexible in accommodating deviations according to each individual circumstances.
- Maintain positive employee relations by encouraging direct and indirect employees to take advantage of our open door policy, suggestion box, participation in status and team meetings, and interactive one-on-one communication.
- Foster a feeling of identity and loyalty within each engineering team. Celebrate accomplishments; communicate calmly but clearly areas that need improvement and instill a continuous improvement mentality in all levels of the Workcell Engineering teams.
- Review all relevant policies and procedures (as initiated and revised) with direct reports, instructing them regarding the specific application to their assignments. Ensure each individual’s comprehension, as well as their ongoing support and compliance.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
- Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
- Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
- Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
- Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
- Strong and convincing communication skills.
- Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree in related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years in an Engineering Management position in a similar industry (for external candidate).
- A minimum of 3 years in a Senior Engineering position in a Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Test or Industrial Engineering function (for internal candidate).
- Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
