Struers Product Marketing Manager
Struers, the global leader in metallographic sample preparation instruments and consumables, has an exciting new position at its China subsidiary. We are looking for one dynamic, experienced person to be our Product Marketing Manager, to drive sales and marketing strategies for its growth portfolio of sample preparation equipment and consumables. The person should be highly motivated, possess a high technical acumen while benefitting from his/her sales experience within the Quality Control and/or R&D industry. The position will be based in Shanghai and report to the China General Manager.

Responsibilities:
?Develop and lead go-to-market marketing strategies for existing and new products within the Struers line of Hardness Testing, Analysis and Sample Preparation products manufactured in Europe
?Annual and ongoing discussions on local product performance within the BU and with Global Product Managers
?Identify local opportunities for organic growth
?Support local Sales with input to e.g. tender specifications
?Provide strategic direction to a team of sales professionals belonging to Struers, distributors and dealers
?Market segmentation and strategic pricing to drive growth and take market share
?Work with Struers global Product Marketing Managers in new product development and strategic planning of new product launches
?Provide customer insight, facilitate customer visits and sales co-travel to/with global Product Management and Innovation
?Drive new product launches, regional promotions and marketing programs through workshops, seminars, conferences in collaboration with Sales and Marketing Communication
?Collecting market intelligence and latest information on various competitor activities and then formulating result oriented sales schemes in consultation with the GM and Sales Manager
?Achieve privileged relationships with existing Key accounts, customers
?Training & Problem Solving: Guide the sales team and distributors through classroom sessions and direct training programs to improve knowledge, skills and attitude to increase the organizational capability
?Other functions as needed
Qualifications:
?Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, metallography, material science or related field, along with 5+ years of related experience selling or managing products in testing instruments in the laboratory, QC or R&D environment is a plus.
?Strong track record in new business development – demonstrable capability of turning identified new business opportunities into sales revenue in a timely manner in a highly competitive sector
?Experience and skillset give the ability to understand the user needs and translate these to local actions (e.g. positioning, messaging and product benefits), as well as prioritize and share these for new product development initiatives. It is natural to present analysis, findings and recommendations in a convincingly manner. The position requires a high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
?Very strong analytically, strong business acumen and self-driven. A “can do” attitude and thinks strategically and tactically. Good at cross cultural interaction and naturally team minded. Commercial and/or technical understanding from the Metallographic industry or industries like Automotive, Aerospace, Manufacturing and Electronics is a plus
?Demonstrated time management and follow up skills
?Solid oral and written English skills
