we are seeking the right individual to join our operations team to ｄｅｌiver our motor designs into low volume production.
main duties & responsibilities
the npi launch manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the planning, implementation, and ｄｅｌivery of our products into production including process ｕｐｄａｔｅs, logistics & warehousing, supply chain, production transfers and customer acceptance. working effectively across all functions in the business and with key customers and suppliers to define, manage and implement projects to ensure operational and launch success. ｄｅｌivering for operations to allow smooth transition into revenue generation ensuring all launch critical activities are completed to provide total customer satisfaction.
this role also has a specific requirement for the candidate to have previous experience of managing the transition of an engineering design into mass production within an apqp environment as well as regular interfacing with factory teams to ensure on time ｄｅｌivery of product to clients
key responsibilities
responsibilities include, although are not limited to the following:
?leadership to coordinate multiple complex projects to allow product launch on time, to quality and with cost to allow profiｔａｂｌｅ operations.
?works closely with all protean project managers and supply chain managers, coordinate and manage operations npi activities and ｄｅｌiverables, npi build scheduling, line set-up, support and communications as required. act as the single operations contact point on all npi programs.
?using microsoft project to develop project plans, schedules, build plans, resource allocation plans, and budgets.
?monitoring project progress by conducting regular status review meetings and ad-hoc discussions with project support personnel.
?working with protean departments to prevent or resolve issues and ensure that npi launch goals are met.
?regularly reporting project progress and issues to protean management and company shareholders.
?in working with the supply chain managers, support the procurement and/or build of prototype, pilot, and first production material, supplier audits and papp reviews.
?working with third party suppliers to track new product availability, qualifications, pre-production ｄｅｌiveries and manufacturing tooling.
?provide project planning and coordination for product transfers, line set-up, pilot builds, qualification, and production ramp start.
?in working with supply chain management, facilitate implementation planning and impact assessments of ecr’s into production. coordinate feedback to ecr process and change management on readiness, materials lead time, inventory consumption, and production implementation.
?working with product business development and engineering project managers, facilitate and co-ordinate production scheduling plans and marketing launch activities.
?assisting in the development of operations responses to customer rfi / rfq / proposals.
?support process development and provide training to other members of protean.

responsibilities include, although are not limited to the following:
implement purchasing/sourcing activities per the project plan and in accordance to purchasing procedure.
conduct cost analysis and obtain continual cost improvement via vave.
build and maintain a positive partnership with the suppliers and drive regular performance review for quality, cost and ｄｅｌivery.
track supplier related engineering change.
support on supplier quality management and logistics when needed.
complete and maintain purchasing related documentation management according to company processes
candidates should assess their suitability against the following essential and/or desirable relevant knowledge and experience:
essential:
proven history of npi to volume purchasing in automotive industry.
working knowledge of in-wheel motor related commodity manufacturing process and cost simulation (casting aluminium/stamping/magｎｅｔ/electronics…familiar with 1~2 commodities required)
working knowledge of english reading, writing and speaking.
working knowledge of it software, office, erp systems, etc.
bachelor degree in engineering, business, or technical degree with relevant procurement experience.
understanding of iatf16949 requirement.

read and interpret drawings and electronics and mechanical cad data
the ability to perceive commercial risks and non-conformances and recommend solutions

the senior supplier quality engineer will be responsible for component development and quality improvement activities at supplier side, to make sure supplier ｄｅｌivery on track to support motor development from prototype to mass production. this job requests the candidate to have very good communication skills with clear mind and work closely with global suppliers to support cross-function team’s critical decision making. key objectives: on time ｄｅｌivery of high quality components both for prototypes and serial production.
responsibilities
-implementation of advanced quality planning to oversee the localization and industrialization supplier development to ensure their ｄｅｌivery on tracking and incoming parts quality under control
-leading and driving supplier improvement from prototype to serial production according to apqp process and ensure supplier ‘s launch readiness for new products and engineering design changes
-co-ordinate all quality related issues with cross-function team as pm, scm, iqc, qe, product engineering and project teams
-facilitate technical review before engineering formal release, and work closely with product engineering, iqc and supplier to make sure all quality control and inspection methods are well aligned
-conduct supplier & key process survey, and prototype /serial production supplier audit to ensure their capability to meet part quality, cost and ｄｅｌivery expectations
-monitor each supplier’s performance through reasonable metrics of production statistics, inspections and audits to support the critical path decision making
-provide input and support on new or ａｌｔｅｒnative material/processes for design improvement, manufacturability, or cost reduction
-worldwide sqe window person support for petj plant’s supplier quality activities
reporting, location & travel
the role is based in tianjin and will report to manager, supplier quality management base in shanghai.
qualification and requirements
-ms or bs’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, automotive powertrain engineering, or relevant power electronics fields
-at least 5 years’ solid experience of supplier quality development or management of automotive key components with good sense of quality planning, prioritizing and implementing, as well as hand on experience of validating inspection methods and gauges, and driving corrective actions / failure analysis efforts
-a deep understanding of iatf16949 (apqp，fmea，msa，spc，ppap), iso9001, certified auditor will be a good plus
-with good experience of supplier process and product audit, vda6.3 and vda 6.5 certified auditor will be a good plus
-well understanding at least one of the key manufacturing process like die-casting/low pressure casting and machining stamping, plastic injection and machining, or automotive high volume quality manufacturing engineering, casting and machining direction will be good plus
-good skills of problem solving tools including 8d, fish bone, design of experiments, root cause analysis and statistical process control principles.
-with good knowledge of gd&t, tooling, jigs and fixtures
-project management experience and knowledge will be a good plus
