西安康明斯发动机有限公司（xcec）是美国康明斯和陕汽集团以50：50的股权共同组建的中美合资企业，公司注册资本两千四百万美元。

西安康明斯的制造基地设在陕西省西安市经济技术开发区内，引进康明斯ism型11升全电控重型柴油机，预期将于2006年第四季度正式投产。

ism柴油机是康明斯重型卡车发动机系列中的旗舰产品，不仅具有一流的燃油经济性和可靠性，而且能够满足当今世界上最为严格的发动机尾气排放标准。ism发动机是包括重型卡车、长途豪华大巴和双层客车在内，全车总重26-44吨之间的重型车辆的理想动力。

载荷大于15吨和发动机功率300马力以上的重型卡车是中国十五计划的重点之一。得益于全世界仅次于美国的第二大高速公路网和经济发展持续保持高速增长的势头，中国重型卡车工业自1999年以来一直保持强劲成长。

总部设在陕西省西安市的陕汽集团是中国生产十五吨以上重型卡车的领先企业，2004年重型卡车产量超过两万多台，较2003年增长76%，年销售额达六亿美元，是中国500强企业。陕汽集团与康明斯在ism发动机上有着多年的合作，并将成为合资公司的最大客户。

康明斯是美国财富五百强企业，进入中国市场三十年以来，作为中国柴油机行业最大的外商投资企业，康明斯在华拥有八家合资和独资企业，生产中重型和大马力发动机、滤清器、交流发电机、涡轮增压器和发电机组等产品，年营业额逾十亿美元。西安康明斯是继重庆康明斯和东风康明斯之后康明斯在华第三个发动机合资项目。

the manufacture base of xcec will be located in economy development area of xian, shaanxi province. xcec will introduce the cummins ism 11-liter heavy-duty engine and forecast to produce in the end of 2006.

the ism is one of the flagship engines of cummins heavy-duty product line. in addition to proven fuel economy and dependability, the ism meets the toughest emission standards worldwide. the ism is the ideal power choice for heavy-duty vehicles with gross vehicle weight between 26 and 44 tons - including trucks, long-distance coaches and double-decker buses.

heavy-duty trucks with payload above 15 tons and engine power above 300 hp are part of chinas "tenth five-year plan. with the worlds second-longest highway system, behind only the united states, chinas heavy-duty trucking industry has seen rapid development since 1999.

shaanqi group, headquartered in xian, is the leading producer of heavy-duty trucks (payload above 15 tons) in china. shaanqi produced over 20,000 heavy-duty trucks in 2004 – a 76 percent over 2003. shaanqi reported sales of $600 million and ranks as one of chinas top 500 enterprises. shananqi group has many years’ cooperation on ism engine, and will be the largest customer for the engines produced by the joint venture.

cummins is in the list of us fortune top 500 and has had a presence in the china market for 30 years. now, cummins is the largest foreign investor in the china diesel engine industry, which makes medium-duty and high-horsepower engines, as well as filters, ａｌｔｅｒnators, turbochargers and generator sets through 8 joint venture and wholly owned enterprises throughout the country, and annul sales exceeded $1 billion. xcec will be the third engine joint venture of cummins in china after dongfeng cummins and chongqing cummins.
